It is said somewhere that Lord Krishna has 1440 Children! Now how did they arrive at this number?

In jyotisa we are taught that a Human Bening is born every minute. SO how many are born in a day by this rule/option? 24 hours X 60 minutes = 1440 minutes. That means every child born is actually a child of Krishna – that’s what was being taught.

And why is it so? Because Krishna is the ‘Moon’ avatara responsible for progeny protection and delivery.

And how are these 1440 children grouped? That depends on the 108 moods of Shiva and Shakti – the Father Divine and Mother Divine of the universe.

So we divide 1440 ÷ 108 = 13.333333333 = 13°20′ …and that is a nakshatra! Therefore Lord Shiva and Shakti ordain that the children shall be grouped into nakshatra (lunar mansions) each measuring 13°20′

And in how many directions shall these children (of Shiva and Shakti delivered by Krishna) move in Bhu-Loka? We have 360° in the zodiac.

So we assign each child to a degree of the zodiac, as they are created due to the degrees. The Sun travels 1° per day and this is the trimsamsa which causes the soul to rebirth.

Now, Directions on Bhu-Loka = 1440 ÷ 360 = 4 …so we have four Cardinal directions called ‘Kendra” and four principal devata to guide these directions. Indra deva in the East, Yama Dharmaraja in South, Varuna of the holy waters in the West and Kubera of countless fortunes in the North.
